A study of Mardale Station and the northern tunnel. Note the closely copied LNWR gallows signal. At the cattle landing are two foreign cattle wagons owned by the Midland Railway. |
A broad view of the yard and part of the station. The lake on the backscene is meant to represent Haweswater. Working gas lamps manufactured by W&T light up the platform, while a Highland Railway meat van is parked in the bay platform. |

A LNWR Precursor tank departing Mardale towards kendal and Lancaster. The bogie corridor coach is a visiting scratch built Furness railway coach loaned by my best friend. The tank engine was also loaned by another friend. |
The only survivor from Mardale, a Kays Coal Tank. The chassis has been converted to EM gauge for running on my Wyndham Row Layout. Extra detailing needs to be done to meet modern standards such as brake gear and rodding. This engine is fitted for auto train running (Push-pull) and the extra plumbing can be seen on the smokebox. |
